The intent of this specification is to describe a simple Data Privacy function for CMTS-CMcommunications in the Data-Over-Cable system. While there exists a requirement for securecommunications over the cable network in order to protect broadcast content and other highvalue data transactions, this specification is intended to provide a minimum level of DataPrivacy and protection from theft of service for Internet access-like services.
