This specification covers the engineering requirements and process controls for selective plating of hard chromium by electrodeposition. It should be used, in conjunction with AMS 2451, for cosmetic touch-up and for wear-resistant chromium deposits.This process has been used typically to provide a corrosion-resistant deposit with excellent wear resistance and to repair damaged, worn, or mismachined parts but usage is not limited to such applications.
