This Practice provides requirements for manufacturing and testing AC squirrel cage induction motors.
This Practice describes the requirements for design, construction, and testing for motors in accordance with IEC requirements for single-speed, horizontal or vertical, polyphase squirrel cage induction motors that are 1000 volts and below. This Practice covers motors that are totally-enclosed fan-cooled (IC 411) type, premium efficiency IE3, air-cooled, with IP 54 degree of protection for motors and auxiliaries, and with IP 55 degree of protection for bearing housing and terminal boxes.
