This Standard encourages participation in the manufacturing of personal care products using organicallygrown ingredients within the supply chain. It emphasizes open disclosure of impacts and benefits, anddoes not compromise proprietary, patented, or trade secret information. Production practicesimplemented in accordance with this Standard shall maintain or improve the natural resources of theoperation, including soil and water quality. This Standard is to be used voluntarily by companies that maynot be able to meet the current USDA organic food regulations.
