Specifies requirements, additional to those in Part 1, covering vehicle hoists of the wheel-supporting, axle-supporting, and frame-supporting types as defined in AS 2549, and used to hoist vehicles in a substantially horizontal plane entirely clear of the ground. Design, controls, performance, components, installation, testing, marking, operation, and maintenance are specified. Appendices provide guidance on use of vehicle hoists, maintenance and inspection procedures, illustrations on typical vehicle hoists, and deflection limits.
