This standard specifies requirements and test methods for non-medicated dental absorbent points used in endodontic procedures. The requirements apply to points that have been sterilized once in a manner approved by the manufacturer. Points include standard and taper-sized points. This standard does not specify requirements or test methods for sterility and/or freedom from biological hazard of points. This revised standard is a modified adoption of ISO 7551:1996, Dental absorbent points.
